New Middle-earth: Shadow of War Trailer Showcases Dynamic Orc Stories

We’ve learned a lot about Middle-earth: Shadow of War over the last couple of months, and the latest trailer is showing off how the expanded Nemsis system can create unique and dynamic stories that will be different for everyone. Every action, choice, and encounter will have their consequences. Lop off an orc’s arm in a fight, and he might come back with a metal claw and a thirst for blood. Save another from certain death, and they’ll be indebted to your cause. The world will be created by the players, and this Middle-earth: Shadow of War trailer shows how alliances and antagonists will be forged in the fires of your actions.

This fascinating system individualizes every enemy you’ll fight in ways that video games have so rarely done before, certainly not to this magnitude. Warner Bros. touted this expanded system when they revealed the trailer.

In Shadow of War, players now have entirely new ways to experience the dynamic world, with more choices and opportunities than ever before due to addition of Orc Followers. Whether spared, scarred, recruited or marked, every encounter will be remembered and help fuel the dynamics of society and conflict within Mordor, all brought to life through the innovative Nemesis System.

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the RingsMiddle-earth: Shadow of War is an open world action RPG that continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Players will be engrossed in a richer, more personal and expansive world full of epic heroes and villains, iconic locations, original enemy types, more personalities and a new cast of characters with untold stories.

If you want to catch up on the previous trailers, there’s one showing a new orc tribe. It was also revealed earlier this month that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will feature loot boxes and microtransacations.

What kinds of stories will you tell when Middle-earth: Shadow of War releases on October 10?
