Sony Reveals Their Initial Tokyo Game Show 2017 Lineup

Sony Tokyo Game Show 2017

Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has published their initial lineup for Tokyo Game Show 2017, which will be held next week on September 21-24. They have listed a lot of information at a dedicated website, and we have compiled the essential ones known so far.

SIEJA will have the following demos of PlayStation 4 games, both from first and third parties, at PlayStation’s own booth:

  • Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite (Capcom)
  • Monster Hunter: World (Capcom)
  • Dynasty Warriors 9 (Koei Tecmo)
  • Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (Square Enix)
  • Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary (Square Enix)
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2 (SEGA)
  • Detroit: Become Human (Sony)
  • Knack 2 (Sony)
  • Gran Turismo Sport (Sony)
  • Call of Duty: WWII (Activision, published by Sony in Japan)
  • Earth Defense Force 5 (D3 Publisher)
  • Code Vein (Bandai Namco)
  • Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet (Bandai Namco)
  • Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! (Bandai Namco)
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ (Bandai Namco)
  • Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (Level-5)

There will be also some PlayStation VR titles that will be playable at their booth:

  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (Bethesda)
  • Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV (Square Enix)
  • What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord? VR (Sony)
  • Gran Turismo Sport (Sony)
  • Summer Lesson: Chisato Shinjo – Seven Days of Etude (Bandai Namco)

SIEJA will also hold live streams for those who cannot attend the event, under the title of PlayStation presents LIVE SHOW “TGS2017”. Although a live stream is also planned on the first business day on Thursday, September 21, the main shows will be held on the public days on the weekend, where both first and third-party games will be featured.

Saturday, September 23 [Stream link]

  • 10:00~10:15 – Public Day 1 Opening
  • 10:30~11:10 – PlayStation VR – Will take a look at some of the PSVR titles being showcased at the booth
  • 12:00~12:40 – Monster Hunter: World – Will have live gameplay against Barroth in Wildspire Waste
  • 13:00~13:40 – Code Vein – Will have about 30 minutes of live gameplay
  • 14:00~14:40 – Detroit: Become Human – Details on the event coming later
  • 15:00~16:30 – Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – SCARZ VS Rush CLAN exhibition match
  • 16:45~17:00 – Public Day 1 Ending

Sunday, September 24 [Stream link]

  • 10:00~10:15 – Public Day 2 Opening
  • 10:30~11:00 – A TBS Radio show that will also feature Shuhei Yoshida with Knack 2
  • 11:30~12:10 – Dissidia Final Fantasy NT – Will have a 3-on-3 exhibition match between Square Enix and Guest teams
  • 13:00~13:40 – Dynasty Warriors 9 – Will have live gameplay of the TGS demo
  • 14:00~14:40 – Monster Hunter: World – Will have live gameplay against Anjanath in Ancient Forest
  • 15:00~15:40 – Yakuza Kiwami 2 – Will also have information on Hokuto ga Gotoku
  • 16:00~16:40 – Gran Turismo Sport – Will have the Top 4 finals of a tournament locally held at TGS
  • 16:45~17:00 – Public Day 2 Ending

Please be noted that this initial lineup is what can be currently revealed by Sony as of today on September 12. It is highly probable that SIEJA is reserving some titles to be announced at 2017 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan, which will be held next Tuesday on September 19. Expect many more announcements of Japanese games in the coming weeks!
