Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid Royal Pools Guide

The Royal Pools

Encounter: There are five platforms in here, one in each corner of the room, and one in the center. Each platform has a ball of light that gives a buff called Pysonic Protection in stacks of 50 that will allow players to touch the water (and subsequently the platforms in them) without getting hurt. Players must stand on each of the corner platforms to lower chains and lock them in place. This needs to be done while defending against the tough Bathers that emerge near each platform. Once the encounter starts, only the middle has the Psyonic Protection buff and the extra two players will need to rotate out on the plates to refresh it.

The next part of the encounter is in the middle area. After the chains lock into place, players need to get the buff called Force of Will by standing on the center platform. Force of Will allows players to shoot the Censers, the gold and purple containers hanging around the center area. There are nine Censers hanging in groups of three. If you don’t get all nine in one round, you’ll need to repeat the first step again before being able to shoot the Censers. Destroy all nine and you’re done.

Strategy: Decide on two teams of three. One will take the left side, and the other will go right. To start the encounter, jump on all platforms at the same time (including the center). The two people from each team in the center will begin rotating out with the other players on their assigned side. each time they swap out, head to the middle to refresh the Psyonic Protection buff before trading out with the third player on their side.

Each side will want to stagger their rotation to avoid the rotating players reaching the center at the same time. If this happens, make sure you actually have the Psyonic Protection buff refreshed before heading to your rotation spot. If you keep a constant rotation going, there is quite a bit of room for error and rotating players can help kill the Bathers at each spot before moving on. Once all four of the chains have the white rectangle lowered to the bottom, the golden locks will move into place and players can move to the middle.

Designate two people to add clearing so that the Censer destroying players don’t get killed. The best classes for this are roaming supers like the Arc Warlock. Warlocks should also place rifts on the ground at the center platform to boost damage and health regen for everyone. The Force of Will buff is only active on the center platform. Players assigned to Censers will need to stand here to do damage. The add clearing players can move around the room. Keep an eye on your buff and leave the water before it starts to cause damage.

Use Power weapons, ranged supers, and long lasting grenades to help damage the gold and purple Censers as much as possible. If you don’t destroy all of the Censers during the first round, a Councilor will appear in a clear bubble in the center. Punch him quickly to take him out. If you don’t kill it quickly enough, he will spawn a projection that needs to be shot and killed or it will cause a full wipe for the team.

After the Councilor and the projection (if it spawns) are taken care of, repeat the entire process of lowering the chains until you can damage the Censers again. Destroy all nine of the Censers and collect your rewards. Head back to the main hub room.

Hub Chamber/Castellum

Repeat the Castellum encounter, this time for the Dog door. You will not collect rewards for this second time even though a chest spawns. You can only collect one chest of rewards per character per week for this encounter, no matter how many times you complete it.

Note: Keep in mind that you may need to adjust strategies for your group. The strategies posted are how my fireteams have managed to complete each encounter, and they now seem to be widely accepted by the Destiny community. Communication with your group is the key.
