The Japanese game news blog Ryokutya has announced first hand -presumedly from the latest Jump magazine- that Gintama Rumble‘s release date in Japan is confirmed to be January 18, 2018. It will be released for not only PlayStation 4 but also PlayStation Vita in its home country.

The rock band SPYAIR will provide a new theme song for Gintama Rumble, which is titled Scramble. Gintama Rumble will also have a limited AV Edition that exclusively includes 16 opening and ending songs from the Gintama anime show that can be listened as in-game BGMs, as well as 60 exclusive catchphrase voices.

It will have a pre-order bonus of a drama CD depicting Gintama characters planning about their catchphrases for the game, and buying an early copy of the game will also reward a DLC code that lets the player use Gintama‘s famous Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon.

Gintama Rumble was first announced by Bandai Namco to be Gintama‘s last game project. It will be a Samurai Rumble action game with a gameplay that looks similar to Dynasty Warriors games. One of the new features introduced in the magazine, Awakening Rumble, is a powerful finisher move that can be launched when the character is in their Awakening mode.

When the Awakening Rumble attack is used, it will turn the screen into an ink-painting style (which may remind some Warriors-genre fans of Capcom’s Sengoku Basara 4). The finishing cut-in and catchphrase voice can be customized to the player’s liking.

Bandai Namco SEA has also recently announced that Gintama Rumble will be receiving an English localization for Southeast Asia that is only available for PlayStation 4. However as of this writing, the release date for the Asian English version has not been known yet.
