CD Projekt RED Will Address The Witcher 3’s Crashing Problem Following PS4 Pro Patch

A CD Projekt RED representative has confirmed to Eurogamer that the developer is looking into reports of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crashing after its recent PlayStation 4 Pro update (1.50). Users across NeoGAF and Reddit complained about the game being unplayable following the patch, and apparently, no proposed solutions are guaranteed to work.

Players were exasperated when they contacted CD Projekt RED and received a response that suggested that the studio didn’t plan to release any further updates. An email shared by NeoGAF user Lnds500 states:

Sadly, it is possible that the fix we prepared in one of previous patches didn’t work for you due to some file corruption. Unfortunately, we don’t have further plans to fix it as any other fixes are too big risk for the entire game. If you would start the game from the beginning or in NG+ mode the issue will be most likely gone. At this moment we are not working on, nor planning to release, any patches for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Now, CD Projekt RED has told Eurogamer that there has been some miscommunication.

This response was simply a miscommunication on our end. We are aware of the issues some users have been experiencing following the PS4 Pro Patch and we are looking into addressing those as soon as possible.

We’ll update our readers when a patch is released.
