Gran Turismo Sport Update 1.05

Gran Turismo Sport Update 1.02 Out Now, is a 12 GB Download

Update: Our Gran Turismo Sport single-player and VR review is now live. Check it out!

Original Story: Players will have to download a sizable Gran Turismo Sport update in order to play Polyphony Digital’s simulation racer online. The day one patch, which is Gran Turismo Sport update 1.02, is 12.325 GB large. That’s a big patch, but one that is necessary if players want to go online.

Full Gran Turismo Sport update 1.02 patch notes aren’t available yet (we’ll update the post once they are available), but we do know it adds the following features:

  • All car data is updated in order to support rain conditions
  • Adds the opening movie
  • Several tweaks to level design
  • The reward sequence has been updated
  • Several bugs have been corrected

Our review-in-progress will go live in less than an hour, which is when the game’s embargo drops. If you can’t wait to learn more about the latest racing simulation from Polyphony Digital, then check out our E3 2017 preview. Here’s a snippet of what writer Paulmichael Contreras had to say:

Gran Turismo Sport is a no-holds-barred racing simulator. Now, sure, we were playing in ideal settings, in a cockpit setup that your average gamer won’t be able to replicate. But Gran Turismo is fun to any racing fan, regardless as to how they are playing. Running with all of today’s latest graphical bells and whistles, and then some – 4K, HDR, 60 frames per second, extended color gamut – it’s going to be a hard game to beat on a technical front. Polyphony Digital is poised to give games like Forza Motorsport 7 a run for their money.

Gran Turismo Sport is now available exclusively on PlayStation 4.
