Today, SEGA released two new Sonic Forces trailers that showcase the “Rental Avatar” ability, which allows players to swap their heroes for other characters. The mode allows players to take advantage of two different hero abilities by allowing them to swap characters.

The first trailer (above) sees the Bird Hero Character battling with the lightning wispon, while the second trailer (below) shows off the Cat Hero character using the Cube wispon.

The new free “Rental Avatar” feature allows access to Hero Characters built by players around the world, granting them the ability to use their Wispons and swap between their character and the “Rental Avatar” at any point in the level. Besides seeing some gorgeous and/or hilarious characters as a result, this feature will let players utilize two different Wispons in a single level to find secret paths and overcome any obstacles in their way.

As some fans may know, Sonic Forces will allow players to create their own customizable Hero Character to put into the game. The new weapons in the game – called Wispons –  are evolutions of the Color Powers from Sonic Colors, doubling as both an offensive ability and a way to progress through a level. Read more on the Wispon below, courtesy of SEGA:

Wispons are an evolution of the Color Powers from Sonic Colors and double as both offensive abilities and as a way to platform through levels quickly. In Sonic Forces, players equip their Hero Character with one of a variety of powerful Wispons, including the Drill Wispon, which allows players to drill dash on the ground to quickly traverse stages and climb walls. Players can also attack enemies using the Drill Wispon by charging and launching a drill punch to smash through and destroy enemies.

Sonic Forces is set to launch worldwide on November 7 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
