Hideki Kamiya Would Still Like to Make an Okami 2, Work on Devil May Cry and Bayonetta

Speaking during a recent interview in this week’s Dengeki PlayStation, PlatinumGames game designer and director Hideki Kamiya teased that he would like to work with his friends over at Capcom on a couple of games.

During the interview, Kamiya addressed his former employer, Capcom, and revealed that he actually still has desires to work on various titles for the company, including a possible crossover between Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. “I want to work on a Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe remake, or a true sequel for Okami“ he said. (translation via Siliconera) “A cooperation with Dante (from Devil May Cry) and Bayonetta might also be fun.”

Considering the games he listed, it isn’t surprising to hear Kamiya still wanting to get his hands on those franchises. During his time at Capcom, Kamiya served as the director for many of the studios biggest hits, including Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry (2001), Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Bayonetta among others.

Fans of the Okami and Viewtiful Joe series have been clamoring for Capcom to revisit those titles for some time now, and with the upcoming Okami remake in the works, perhaps the public reception will get Capcom thinking on how to approach a new title. Either way, fans will no doubt continue to hope that Kamiya will have his wish granted.

What do you think? Would you be interested in another Okami or a Bayonetta and Devil May Cry crossover, or would you rather Kamiya work on something else? Let us know in the comment section below.
