Japanese Sales Chart: Pokémon is Still Huge, Star Wars Not So Much

Once again there’s a new release on top of the Japanese sales chart. In its debut week of sales, Pokémon Sun and Moon managed to sell over 900,000 units. That’s an incredible number, and shows the staying power of Nintendo’s role-playing game series (especially since this was more of a tweaked release rather than an all-new title).

In hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch once again managed to top the charts by a wide margin. It outsold the second best selling console (the New 2DS) by over 40,000 units.

As far as new PS4 releases go, Star Wars Battlefront wound up coming in fourth with just under 40,000 units sold. Meanwhile, a new edition of Dragon Quest X and The Sims 4 managed to chart, although the latter only sold 3,428 copies.

According to Media Create, here’s the 20 best-selling retail games (new releases are denoted via bold text), along with how each system sold in Japan from November 13 to November 19, 2017:
