16 Rappers That Need to Be Added to NBA 2K18

Earlier today it was announced that Drake was being added to NBA 2K18:

October’s very own is coming to NBA 2K18 and is ready to take it from 0 to 100 real quick. Visual Concepts announced today on Twitter that Drizzy Drake will be coming “to a Neighborhood near you.” This is a reference to the NBA 2K18’s The Neighborhood mode, which acts as a social space for created characters. It also says that Drake will be “verified,” so you don’t have to worry about No Frauds.

It’s a natural fit considering how interwoven hip hop and basketball are. Many famous rappers have expressed their love for NBA 2K in songs, and even more have been known to play basketball. Today’s announcement got my mind rolling, and I’ve come up with 16 other rappers that I’d love to see added to NBA 2K18 in the future. Drake should be the start of a trend, not just a standalone addition.

Check out my list of 16 rappers that should be in NBA 2K18 below:

For more on the basketball sim, check out my NBA 2K18 review. Here’s what I had to say about the game at launch:

Rarely have I had as many conflicting feelings about a game as much as I do with NBA 2K18. So much about the basketball sim is top-notch, but there are also so many elements that make me want to put it down and never touch it again. From gross business decisions that get in the way of enjoying modes to adding so many elements that get in the way of simply enjoying the on-court action, it winds up being its own worst enemy. Those who just want a solid basketball game to play exhibition matches won’t find anything better, but the rest of the package winds up stepping on its own feet all too often.

Let us know what other rappers you’d like to see in the game in the comments below!
