Phantom8 has released a new video for the action stealth title Past Cure, releasing next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The first of two walkthrough videos, this focuses on the main character Ian’s skills, as well as the core weapon he’ll use. The walkthrough is done by Nick Mallinder, an animation artist at Phantom 8.

Here is the Past Cure walkthrough video:

Phantom 8 provides more information into Ian’s move set:

Many levels can be approached in different ways with Ian‘s abilities, allowing for full on action or a more stealth orientated approach. Players who wish to avoid direct battle can use astral projection to scout the area and create distractions for patrolling enemies by disabling security cameras. The time manipulation skill on the other hand helps the player to evade enemies, execute stealth kills or pull off the perfect head shot during combat. The gunplay is supported by melee combat and stealth kills motion captured in collaboration with specialist MMA fighters.

Past Cure has an interesting plot. If you haven’t been keeping up on the title, make sure to read this synopsis:

After years of being tortured in dark prisons across Europe, former elite soldier Ian lives in his brother’s safehouse, struggling with the consequences of the military experiments he was put through. They twisted his mind; imbued him with preternatural mental abilities such as time manipulation and telekinesis, and fractured his grip on reality. Driven by hallucinations and his thirst for revenge, Ian enlists his brother’s help and sets out on a thrilling hunt; both for the perpetrators of the conspiracy against him and for the truth underlying his torment. During the course of his mission Ian experiments with his new powers, quickly coming to realize their inherent danger – with each use, his sanity frays a little more, drawing the nightmarish attention of something beyond reality.

In pursuit of the men behind his imprisonment, Ian soon realizes that his true enemy may be hiding within his own madness.

Past Cure will release February 2, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
