Sony Confirms That a Jak and Daxter Collection is Headed to the PS4, Out Next Week

As we learned yesterday, Sony seemed to be ready to prepare a bundle of Jak and Daxter titles together for the PlayStation 4. We assumed yesterday that they might announce the titles next weekend at their PlayStation Experience, but surprisingly, they did it today, taking to the PlayStation Blog to announce that Jak II, Jak 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing will all be available for download on the PlayStation Store on December 6.

While Sony hasn’t revealed a price point for the games yet, the PlayStation 4 version of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is $14.99 on the PlayStation Store, so it wouldn’t be too shocking to see the prices for the other titles hover in that area as well. In addition to the newly announced titles, Sony has also revealed that a new Legacy Dashboard Theme will be available on the PlayStation Store on December 6.

The theme – which costs $2.99 – takes players back to the days of the PlayStation 2, complete with sounds and purple/blue colorways, harken back to the days when the Jak and Daxter series were brand new. For more information on the Jak and Daxter series, make sure to check out below:

On October 14, 2003, Naughty Dog released Jak II for the PlayStation 2 system, and something amazing happened for the Jak and Daxter franchise: Jak was able to speak for the first time, enabling players to hear and experience Jak’s own point of view using his voice, instead of relying solely on Daxter’s witty banter and exposition. This was the start of something special, and the franchise continued to reach new heights with the release of Jak 3 and Jak X

Make sure to let us know in the comment section below if you plan on picking up any of the individual Jak and Daxter titles, or if you’re going to be springing for the whole bundle.
