Destiny 2 Servers down

Destiny 2 Servers Down Ahead of Curse of Osiris Release, Adding Update 1.1.0

Bungie took the Destiny 2 servers down for scheduled maintenance this morning. The maintenance is scheduled to start at 7 AM Pacific and conclude at 10 AM Pacific. Starting at 7 AM Pacific, players will no longer be able to log in to Destiny 2. At 8 AM Pacific, all online players will be returned to the title screen. At this time, Destiny 2 update 1.1.0 and Curse of Osiris will be available to download. Maintenance is scheduled to end at 10 AM Pacific. When the servers return, the Curse of Osiris expansion will be available to play, along with all of the new changes that Bungie outlined last week. This timeline is subject to change, and may depend on your download speeds. PS4 players will need 88 GB of free space to download and install the expansion.

Bungie has faced some criticisms recently for a lack of transparency regarding an experience throttle (among other things), but have committed to holding a better dialog with their players when they offered a lengthy “State of Destiny 2” post that addressed a lot of fan feedback. While Bungie took some time to detail endgame economy changes coming to Destiny 2 this month, there will be more updates to the game listed in the update 1.1.0 patch notes, which are unavailable at this time. These changes will include sandbox updates and balancing to weapons and character classes. We’ll have the update 1.1.0 patch notes available as soon as Bungie publishes them.

Last month, we had a chance to get our hands on the new Curse of Osiris content. We gave our impressions of the story and characters, the new activities to do, and showed off two of the new Crucible maps. You can also watch the opening mission of Curse of Osiris and the new public event on Mercury. Are you eager to jump back in to Destiny 2 with Curse of Osiris?
