Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet story trailer

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet has a Separate Mode for Kirito

As reported by the Japanese game news blog Ryokutya, Bandai Namco has published new information on Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet in the latest Dengeki PlayStation magazine. This time, it introduces a Kirito Mode that literally lets people play as Kirito, the actual protagonist of Sword Art Online series.

Unlike past Sword Art Online games where players experienced the story from Kirito’s perspective (even though in some of the games it was possible to change the name and appearance, the main perspective was still that of Kirito Kazugaya), in Fatal Bullet they can create their own avatar which will be separate from Kirito. After reaching a certain point in the story, players will be able to switch between Normal Mode (controlling their own avatar) and Kirito Mode.

Other than that, this batch also confirms that Death Gun will appear in this game and his Japanese voice actor Soichiro Hoshi will reprise his role here. This game will also have Costume Quests where Asuna will act as the tailor, but no more details are given.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. Japan will get it first on PS4 and Xbox One on February 8, while the Steam version along with the worldwide release will be on February 23.
