Latest Bloodstained Gameplay Video Shows New Stage

ArtPlay just released a new development update on the development of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. In it, a new Bloodstained gameplay video shows off a brand new stage. The level is Japanese-themed, a departure from the castle stage we’ve seen previously, and it looks to be a nice change of pace.

Check out the new Bloodstained gameplay to see the Japanese-themed stage in action!

Here’s how IGA describes what’s in the new video:

Merry Christmas! IGA here. This month we’ve been busy adding interactive assets to make the environment more lively, so you can see things moving and spinning as you navigate the stages.

In today’s update, we’re sharing a new stage! It’s inspired by a traditional Japanese motif. Please enjoy the scenery and the colorful autumn leaves in this video preview. (This is also the first time we are sharing this stage’s soundtrack.)

For even more on the upcoming action platformer, check out our Bloodstained preview. Here’s a snippet of what I had to say about the game:

I came into my demo of Bloodstain: Ritual of the Night with some reservations about the crowdfunded title, but all of those fears melted away after I got my hands on it. This is IGA and Inti Creates doing what they do best, which is creating satisfying combat with all of the proper hooks of a Metroidvania title. I’m looking forward to seeing how the game will evolve, as I’m sure the demo only touched on the surface of what is available, but so far it’s looking extremely promising.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is expected to release in 2018. The latest KickStarter update teases that another demo is on the way.
