Konami Details Changes for PES League 2019, Starting September 20

Konami has announced details year’s incarnation of its annual esports competition, the PES League. Sign-ups for the PES League 2019 will begin on September 20, 2018, which is also when the first matches start. Konami was obviously happy with how last year went down, as the PES League 2019 is mostly following the same format, and will again consist of 1v1 and 3v3 matchups. However, there will be some major changes in store.

A new national round will be added following the first qualifying matches. Players will compete in national leagues in an attempt to move on to regionals. Konami says this new round will be so “skilled competitors have a higher chance of qualifying and that each country is represented by the best PES 2019 players.” Of course, the whole thing will end with the PES League World Finals 2019.

Konami is also looking to revamp the process for rewarding those who make it to the end. The amount of time a player has been in the competition, along with how many matches they have taken part in, will help determine the value of their prize.

The announcement came with a snazzy new trailer:

The tournament will be for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC players. The PES League 2019 can be streamed on all of the PES social media accounts, including Twitch. If you want to get started honing your skills now, you can get your hands on the demo before the full game, which is set to feature a number of new teams, launches.

PES 2019 releases on August 28, 2018.
