Sludj Games’ Wrongworld Coming to PlayStation 4

Wrongworld PS4

Sludj Games recently released Wrongworld on Steam earlier this year in May 2018. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a procedurally generated open-world survival game that dabbles in the surreal. Your character crash lands on a low-poly world filled with bizarre looking creatures. You’re given the choice of either building a home upon Wrongworld or trying to escape it once and for all. There’s no denying the game’s enigmatic presentation, but it also gives way to some beautiful scenery in its randomized world. There was a recent interview with VGR, in which the solo developer Jamie Coles discussed his inspiration for the game:

About three years ago, when I first started prototyping lots of different ideas, one of the ones that I wanted to work on was… well, the thought process that I had was, ‘I wonder if I can make a Don’t Starve -style game in 3D.’ Because strangely, I don’t feel like that’s been done. All the other survival games that were coming out, and still are coming out, are very realistic, very competitive shootery, very gritty and a bit grim. Long Dark; amazing game, but it’s a bit heavy-going. I wanted to make something that was like a Don’t Starve, oddball survival game but just silly and lighthearted and fun.

The game is currently being optimized for both Mac and Linux versions, but Coles also said that there are plans to bring Wrongworld to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 sometime in the future.

The game seems to take plenty of inspiration from Don’t Starve and The Long Dark, but twisting it into a maniacal surrealist’s dream. Will you be getting it when it comes to PlayStation 4? Let us know below!
