Despite Rocky Launch, Battlefield 2042 Has Twice as Many Players as BFV at the Same Point Post Launch

Electronic Arts has announced that Battlefield 2042 has twice as many players as Battlefield V at the same point in time following release. This revelation comes amid the game’s woeful state and poor critic and user reception.

In an article published on its website, EA reassured players that it’s carefully listening to feedback and provided a comprehensive list of changes coming via two updates, one of which will release tomorrow (November 25th), just in time for Thanksgiving break.

Interestingly, it looks like DICE and EA took note of the viral Reddit post that contains a lengthy list of Battlefield franchise features “missing” in Battlefield 2042.

“We also want to give you the assurance that we’re carefully evaluating your desire to see legacy features return,” the article reads. “End-of-match Scoreboard, Server Browser, and features like Voice Chat are big topics for us to cover all at once, and we have plenty we want to say around them. We’ll come back to you when we have things that we can show to you, including details about our long-term vision for certain features and functions.”

As for the incoming updates, as previously mentioned, update #2 will release tomorrow whereas update #3 will release in early December at an unspecified date. The latter will be a “substantial” update.

“We are also working on another update that we are looking to deploy in advance of the Holidays too,” EA added. “In addition to the updates that are coming, we’ll also be sharing more about Season 1 in early 2022.”

We’ll update our readers when patch notes become available. In the meantime, make sure to read EA’s full article for details on incoming changes and fixes. It’s a very lengthy read so grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable first.
