2K Games is Bringing Hef’s ‘Bunnies’ to Mafia II

As gamers patiently await Mafia II, the sequel to the original smash hit PC game, 2k Games is doing their best to hype the game up as much as they can. It’s been revealed the developers have signed a rather sexy deal to bring something that any gamer can love: beautiful women. Nude beautiful women at that. Oh yeah, I bet I have your attention now.

2k Games has dropped a ‘bombshell’ that they have signed a deal with freagin’ PLAYBOY magazine which will bring 50 of the magazines most famous covers and centerfolds from the 50’s era into the game. Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K Games was more than excited to talk about the partnership.

While most mob-inspired games’ emphasis is solely on action, Mafia II features a deep and compelling narrative that is embellished with a sophisticated, era-evoking atmosphere. In partnering with Playboy, we are able to add a unique element of authenticity to the game by using vintage images from the magazine that illustrate the power of Playboy’s influence on the attitudes and culture of that generation.

I can only begin to wonder whose idea this way, but hey..Playboy magazine’s Editorial Director Jimmy Jellinek knows that it’s more about having beautiful nude women in the game,  it’s all about being authentic for the time.

Mafia II is set when Playboy first came into vogue and features characters whose style and attitudes mirror content from our early issues. We’re excited to bring an element of authenticity to the game that is unmatched in the men’s publishing category.

How exactly do you come across the PlayBoy mags in the game? You’ll have to find and collect them, what else? So yeah, I’m putting money on the fact that there’ll be a trophy to earn upon the end of your man-hunt for Playboy mags.

Check out the latest trailer or you could always stop and wonder for a second..will Mafia II have Sony Arc Motion Controller support so that you will have one hand free in case you have to um, scratch your nose?

Mafia II‘s release date is set for later this year.
