Shuhei Yoshida: YouTube App/Browser Support “Not on Day 1”, DualShock 4 Battery Life “A Bit Shorter” Than DualShock 3

After the 11 PS4 launch apps (not including Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited) were confirmed, many people were disappointed to see YouTube wasn’t included, and then wondered if we’d be able to access YouTube through the PS4’s web browser.

As Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed on Twitter, using YouTube through an app or web browser is “not on Day 1, sorry for the inconvenience.” Much like MP3/DLNA support and Pulse Elite Headset support, this is likely something to be patched in later on the PS4.

In an interesting reply, Shuhei said the DualShock 4’s battery life is “a bit shorter than DS3, but you can charge DS4 while PS4 is standby.” This elaborates further on the official PS4 FAQ, which said it “is similar to that of DualShock 3.
