Those who were hoping for Sanzaru Games to develop the next Sly Cooper title may be in for a little bit of a disappointment. The developer has confirmed on Facebook that it has no plans to develop the next game in the series.
I wanted to respond to a lot of the questions regarding Sanzaru Games and Sly Cooper. While we, like you, dearly love the Cooper gang, we are not currently working with PlayStation on a project and there are no plans to work on another Sly Cooper title.
We are very proud of the work we have done on Shattered Crystal and the initiative from Sega on the new Sonic Boom series – download the demo and give it a try!
While this post doesn’t make it clear whether Sony has decided to hand over the project to a different developer or not, it certainly seems to have upset some fans on social media.
There’s currently no confirmation of Sly Cooper 5 being in development.
