Publishers Wanted a Male Lead Character in Life is Strange, Says Dontnod

In the recently released developer diary (above) for Life is Strange, developer Dontnod Entertainment has revealed that some publishers wanted a male lead character in the game, and that Square Enix was the only publisher that didn’t want anything changed. Creative Director Jean-Maxime Moris said:

Square is basically the only publisher who didn’t want to change anything about the game. We had other publishers telling us to make it a male lead character, and Square didn’t even question that once.

The nine-minute video was shot in Dontnod’s Paris studio, and provides a behind-the-scenes look at Life is Strange. We’re introduced to the game’s origins, story, themes and characters as well.

Life is Strange: Episode 1 is releasing on Friday, January 30, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
