It’s not surprising to see, however, that the petition already has over 65,000 signatures. To be precise, it sits at 66,371 supporters at the time of this writing, and needs a little over 8,500 to achieve its target.
Do these things actually work? Who knows!
A letter from Yauheni Zinkevich, who started the petition, reads that the cancellation of Silent Hills was the “most heartbreaking thing horror fans had to swallow this year.” Fans are even offering to help raise funds for the game via Kickstarter.
On a slightly positive note, Konami has said that it will continue to work on the Silent Hill franchise, which is better than nothing, I suppose.
