In their announcement of a Save Importer for Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWare revealed that all future DLC for the game will only appear on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, leaving PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 behind:
Did you begin your Dragon Age: Inquisition adventure on a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 console and want to upgrade to a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? We’ve got great news! With our brand new Save Importer feature, you can migrate your old saves, and continue your adventure without starting over from scratch.
All future Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One only, so we designed our Save Importer feature to help make the transition to a new console as easy as possible. Below, we’ll walk you through the migration process for each console, as well as provide a helpful FAQ.
As part of the lengthy FAQ, BioWare explains that you can only transfer from PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One, with PlayStation transfers requiring the same PSN account on both systems. You’ll also need to have the free Black Emporium DLC installed.
If you own the Jaws of Hakkon or Spoils of the Avvar DLC on PS3, “you can download them on your PlayStation 4 system using the same SEN/PSN account at no additional charge.” As well, if your PS3 save included these DLC packs, “you must have them on your PlayStation 4 system to load your imported savegame data.”
You can export as many single-player saves as you want, though only the most recent exported save is available for import. As well, you may notice your Inquisitor’s face looking different because “some character-creation options were not available for the PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360 console.”
You’ll be able to use the Save Importer when it goes live this month as part of Patch 8.
