You Need to Check Out This Limited Edition God of War Kratos Statue

If you ask gamers who the most recognizable Sony PlayStation “mascot” is, chances are, you’ll hear people say it’s Kratos, the protagonist and anti-hero of the God of War franchise.

With that said, the God of War team over at Sony Santa Monica just outdid themselves by creating this legendary God of War Kratos statue to commemorate the bald hero’s 10-year anniversary. Standing at 26″ tall, the statue has hand finished leather, cloth and metal pieces. It’s kind of a bit pricey at $499 (pre-sale), and is limited to only 500 statues, but you can get $100 — and a God of War t-shirt — if you order right this moment.

“Epic” gained a new definition when God of War debuted on the PlayStation 2 system.

Since 2005 Kratos is a name known to PlayStation fans worldwide. A General in the Spartan Army, Kratos swore allegiance to the god Ares, not realizing he was bartering more than his life for victory. A champion of the gods now betrayed by Olympus, Kratos, the “Ghost of Sparta”, seeks the destruction of all who stand in his way.

In continued celebration of 10 legendary years of God of War, we are proud to showcase the defining Kratos statue. Designed by the God of War team, standing over 26″ tall, hand finished with leather, cloth, and metal pieces, detailed to the trim, this is a breathtaking statue for the ultimate God of War collector.

Limited Edition of 500 statues, individually numbered.

You can buy the item in Sony’s official gear page here. You can also check out a few closeup shots of the statue along with the Blades of Chaos in the gallery below.

I don’t know about you, but with a God of War game confirmed to be in development, and this statue’s estimated ship date on December 4, and Sony’s PlayStation Experience event happening on December 5-6, I kinda get the feeling that something might get announced or revealed — well, one can hope, anyway.
