PSN Down in Some Areas, Sony Aware of Connectivity Issues (Update 2)

Update 2:

All services seem to be up and running now. If you’re still experiencing issues, you’re advised to either contact Sony’s support team in your region or Ask PlayStation on Twitter.

Update 1:

PSN services are gradually being restored so if you’re still facing issues, just sit tight. You’re likely to experience intermittent connectivity.

Original story:

Following yesterday’s unexpected PlayStation Network outage for all PlayStation platforms, PSN seems to be experiencing connectivity issues once more.

If you’re having trouble signing in to PlayStation Network and/or associated services, don’t fret as it’s not just you. Sony’s PSN status page confirms that, at least in the United States, all of its services are currently “experiencing issues.” This doesn’t necessarily mean everyone is affected, but the Ask PlayStation Twitter team has acknowledged that some users may experience issues with all or some of the associated services.

Logging in to your PSN via the PS4 might work, but testing your ‘net connection will prompt PSN to say that it’s “undergoing maintenance” (error NP-35000-8).

Stay tuned for updates. We’ll, of course, update this post as the day goes on. Alternatively, make sure to check the PSN Status page or the Ask PlayStation Twitter account.

In the meantime, maybe try and finish some of your offline gaming backlog while PSN is down. It’s way better than just waiting for it to go up, right? If PSN is down where you are, let the others know in the comments.
