[SPOILERS IN THE VIDEO AND BELOW DESCRIPTION]

With the creative team having been “hard at work making season two more action-packed than the last,” the new season includes actors like Michael Madsen (The Hateful Eight), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars), and Wil Wheaton (The Big Bang Theory). They join returning cast members like Sharlto Copley (District 9) and Susan Heyward (Vinyl).

Here’s what Sony says about Powers:

POWERS, a PlayStation Original Series, returns May 31 with new episodes which delve into the shocking murder of the world’s most famous superhero, Retro Girl, and the mysteries that her death uncovers.

POWERS is an edgy dramatic series based on the graphic novel series of the same name which follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with extraordinary abilities, referred to as “Powers.” Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, POWERS asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals?
