Bandai Namco’s #PrepareToDine Teaser Is For Code Vein, An Action RPG With Vampires

Bandai Namco’s official reveal isn’t happening until Thursday, but the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) has revealed that the #PrepareToDine teaser is for a “dungeon exploration-type, hard action RPG” with vampires called Code Vein. It’s out in Japan in 2018, a worldwide release is planned, and platforms are TBA.

From the team behind God EaterCode Vein is set in a near future where everything is destroyed, and puts you in the shoes of Revenants, vampires that possess supernatural abilities but have lost most of their memories. Weapons include great swords, one-handed swords, spears, and hammers, and Code Vein also includes a Buddy system, where you can bring a partner along when exploring dungeons.

Asked if Code Vein is related to God Eater, Producer Keita Iizuka said, “We are developing it as a new title that offers a new game experience.”

Following the official reveal later this week, a gameplay trailer will arrive in early May.
