Outlast 2 – Everything You Need to Know

Four years ago, investigative journalist Miles Upshur stepped foot in the twisting, blood-drenched corridors of Mount Massive Asylum to uncover a mystery — a dark, spine-chilling mystery that involved nine kinds of homicidal patients and a mad doctor run amok.

The end result was a modern horror classic by the name of Outlast, one told through the lens of a temperamental camcorder. Perhaps the one element that ensured Red Barrels’ blistering debut became such a runaway success was the crippling sense of player vulnerability, as players tip-toed around the creepy, dilapidated environments without so much as a weapon to defend themselves with. Instead, you were forced to rely heavily on your trust camcorder, picking up spare batteries as you scurried away from the horrors that lurked in the shadows. It didn’t take long before Red Barrels’ released a console port for Outlast, which itself spawned the Whistleblower DLC in 2014. Now, we’re teetering on the verge of Outlast 2.

So, you’re ready to venture forth into the most remote community in the United States? Not so fast! In anticipation of its launch on April 25, we’ve scoured the four corners of the internet — and the PSLS archives — to compile all the necessary information you could ever need pertaining to Red Barrels’ horror follow-up.
