Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe has continued their feature of highlighting the PlayStation 4 Pro support for recent and upcoming games. This time around, they spoke with the developers of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, LawBreakers, Dreadnought, and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II.

With Hellblade on PS4 Pro, you’ll be able to choose between 60 frames-per-second or 1440p resolution. If you go for the improved resolution, Sony’s Matthew Groizard explained that Ninja Theory has “chosen to favor a rock solid performance above all else, ensuring combat and movement are never interrupted. To this end, the game dynamically adjusts output resolution ‘on the fly’, scaling between the target 1440p resolution and a full HD 1080p to maintain a constant frame-rate.” If you don’t have a 4K TV, you’ll find increased image quality thanks to down-sampling.

Should you choose the 60fps mode in Hellblade (it targets 30fps on the base PS4), you’ll find more fluid gameplay. Groizard adds that “the game will continue to target higher resolutions in this mode meaning you’ll still enjoy above HD resolutions, though perhaps not quite as high overall.”

Moving to LawBreakers, PS4 Pro owners will find 2160p visuals at a “wonderfully smooth” 60fps, complete with high-fidelity textures. Don’t have a 4K TV? The game will run at 1080p/60fps, complete with improved lighting and visual effects.

With Dreadnought, which is already available in open beta, PS4 Pro support includes 1440p resolution, and a higher level of detail for static and skeletal meshes (3D in-game objects).

Finally, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II will have three different modes to choose from on PS4 Pro:

  • Better Performance Mode – Doubles the base PS4’s 30fps target to deliver a “silky-smooth 60fps throughout”
  • Better Quality Mode – Locks the game to 30fps to “deliver a fully-native 4K resolution of 3840×2160”
  • Balance Mode – More than doubles the native resolution to 1620p and boosts performance by around 65% to 50fps

Hellblade, LawBreakers, and Van Helsing (at least in Europe) are all scheduled to release tomorrow on PS4.
