With each passing month, we learn more about the effort BioWare is putting into Anthem. The game has made considerable progress ever since it was first showcased at E3 2017. Anthem Game Director Jonathan Warner gamescom 2018 shad a few things to say about what BioWare has lined up for it and how he thinks it should be played.
When Warner spoke to VG24/7 about how he felt about Anthem, he said:
Personally, I’ve played it for a long time and I feel the real magic of the game is when you’re playing with a squad. Because then you can pull of combos. When you see someone zooming over your head in a Colossus, there’s a moment of, ‘Oh, shit!’. I love that.
Of course, players can enjoy Anthem on their own if they want. If you do your best, you may find you can vanquish its enemies. You will do it alone, though, as we know that Anthem’s single player segment will not have AI-controlled teammates. There will also be quite a bit of customization, but currently no romance.
Anthem will come to the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on February 22, 2019.
