Have an Outerbody Puzzle Solving Experience with Transpose

Transpose is heading to the PlayStation VR. Developed by Secret Location, this title takes place in a trippy universe where, as the press release says, players are tasked with recording “multiple overlapping versions of themselves that need to work together to solve increasingly intricate puzzles.”

Here’s a Transpose reveal trailer.

Transpose‘s allegedly eight hour long campaign involves players solving thirty levels worth of puzzles in three worlds. As stated by Ryan Andal, President and Co-Founder at Secret Location, Transpose aims to create a surrealistic experience by “extending our perception of what’s possible in VR” and “literally and figuratively, completely turn you on your head and transport you into a warped reality you’d never be able to experience otherwise.”

Transpose will include features such as:

  • “Echo” Time Loops: Players must solve puzzles by recording their own actions to create multiple instances of themselves, called echoes, and coordinate their echoes from various time loops to sync up and solve puzzles together;
  • Real-time Motion Capture: Transpose records players’ every action, allowing them to see copies of their characters mimic their actual movements almost immediately after being enacted;
  • Perspective Shifts: Set in a mesmerizingly surreal world, Transpose allows players to rotate the environment around them to walk on walls and ceilings, experiencing perspective shifts and multifaceted puzzles in ways only possible in VR.

Transpose has a release window of Fall 2018 for the PlayStation VR, HTC VIVE, and Oculus Rift. It will cost $19.99.
