Atlus USA Promises ‘Exciting Projects’ Amid Leadership Shake-Up

It appears that Sega and Atlus are about to have an even closer relationship, as a recent shake-up in leadership sees two top Sega officials joining Atlus U.S.A. Ian Curran, who was appointed COO and President of Sega of America back in April 2018, will assume the same role for Atlus U.S.A. In addition, Tatsuyuki Miyazaki, current CEO of Sega West, will also be taking on the same role over at Atlus’ Western offshoot. Current Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka will step back to assume the role of overall Atlus Brand Owner.

Hiraoka, who will remain on the board of Sega of America and Atlus U.S.A., gave a statement promising more “exciting projects” from the publisher:

I’m so proud of the work we’ve done at Atlus U.S.A., Inc. and Mr. Miyazaki and Mr. Curran will continue to guide the company to even greater success. I look forward to creating more exciting projects with the creative team at Atlus in Japan, and wish my colleagues the best of luck growing the business in the Americas and EMEA.

Atlus has seen a fair bit of success recently, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection will be releasing in December 2018, while Catherine: Full Body is heading West sometime in 2019. It’s unknown how this change in leadership will affect either Sega or Atlus, but with high-profile franchises like Yakuza and Persona, the future looks bright.
