Characters in Battlefield V War Stories Will Speak in Their Respective Languages

EA and DICE recently showed off the War Stories of Battlefield V, showing off the emotional and heart-tugging narratives of World War II. However, it looks like DICE is aiming to take the experience one step further. Jeff Gangé, a Level Designer working on the War Stories, said the team is attempting to make the experience as immersive as possible.

Gangé originally posted a behind the scenes video of one of the campaign’s cutscenes. After a fan noticed the actor speaking in French, Gangé responded by saying all of the characters in the War Stories will speak in their respective languages. He even goes one step further by saying the characters are speaking Sénégalais French.

While Battlefield V is an alternative take on World War II, the team at DICE are striving for authenticity where it counts. The studio recently announced it is dialing back on customization options in an attempt for greater authenticity. However, the team is refusing to budge on its inclusion of women in the game.

Similar to Battlefield 1, the single-player campaign for Battlefield V covers all corners of the war. As such, having characters speak in their native languages is a nice (and likely appreciated) touch.

Battlefield V releases on November 20, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The release date comes after a delay from it’s original October 19th launch date.
