Activision’s premiere service for it’s prized military shooter goes live today for the PlayStation 3. The beta for Call of Duty Elite will launch later today, utilizing the data collected from Black Ops.

According to Activision, the beta will feature:

Select features and functionality… including stat tracking, the use of custom player groups, competitive events and video sharing.

A major upgrade of additional features will come to Call of Duty Elite at its official launch on November 8th with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Finally, PlayStation gamers will finally be able to join in on the fun that Xbox 360 owners have been able to enjoy for a couple of months now. PC gamers still don’t have access to the beta, as it’s set to launch for them at a later date.

If you have signed up for the beta, sit tight as Activision will be sending out invitations throughout the day.
