Pinball Arcade Coming To PSN For PS3 & PlayStation Vita Next Week

FarSight Studios has announced Pinball Arcade, which is coming to PSN for PS3 and PlayStation Vita.

On the PS Blog, FarSight Studios Lead Designer Bobby King announced that Pinball Arcade is coming to the PlayStation Store on April 10th for both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The game will be available to purchase for $9.99, but is trial to buy, meaning the initial download is free and players will be able to play all of the tables up until they reach a certain score. At that point, they’ll be asked to buy the game or quit to the main menu. Gamers who buy one version of the game, though, will automatically get the other version for free — which extends to downloadable content as well.

Pinball Arcade has four tables in the main game “running on the most accurate pinball physics engine ever developed.” The PS3 version will run at 60 frames per second.

On PlayStation Vita, the game will use the handheld’s front touch screen and rear touch panel. King said in the comments that he’s “pretty sure” that the Vita version also runs at 60 frames per second.

Each table in the game has two Silver Trophies and one Bronze Trophy.

Fans of FarSight’s previous game, Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection, will be glad to know that most (if not all) of the tables from that game will be re-released in Pinball Arcade.

The game’s first downloadable content will be the Medieval Madness and Bride of PinBot tables. Two table DLC will initially be $4.99. King said that FarSight’s plan is to release two tables per month.
