Ubisoft Hasn’t Forgotten Assassin’s Creed PlayStation 3 Players

PlayStation 3 owners who are fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise may have been disappointed to note that the upcoming title, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, is headed to PlayStation 4 only. If it’s any consolation, the developer has said that it hasn’t forgotten last-gen players.

In a statement to GameSpot, Ubisoft said that we will hear about their plans for PS3/Xbox 360 players “soon.”

Prior to the announcement of Unity, reports had already surfaced that an Assassin’s Creed game is being developed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Ubisoft has not yet confirmed any such project, but it looks like the rumor has some weight.

Back in May, CEO Yves Guillemot assured players that Ubisoft wasn’t going to abandon the last generation of consoles. “We have not disclosed our plan yet for the Xbox 360 and PS3 SKUs,” he said.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity is set to release worldwide on October 28, 2014.
