Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Won’t Have “Panic Knifing,” Sniping Will Be Easier

Some new details surrounding Call of Duty: Black Ops 3‘s multiplayer modes have surfaced, including information on sniping and melee attacks.

According to Treyarch and people who have time to play the upcoming shooter, aiming using the scopes of long-ranged sniper rifles is noticeably easier. The sensitivity has been adjusted to make zooming in more useful, and apparently hitting targets is easier to do. Treyarch has noted that the power of sniper rifles will be changed accordingly due to this, but it is not yet clear what those changes will be.

It has also been confirmed that melee attacks are considerably weaker than some other CoD games, as “panic knifing” will no longer be possible. Instead of players being able to use melee attacks to ensure one hit kills, players now attack with the butt of their guns. While it will take at least two hits to kill with this attack, the blows can stun and knock back opponents. Players will also be able to equip a knife as a secondary weapon to allow for one hit melee kills.

When PlayStation LifeStyle got to check out Black Ops 3, we noted that the customization options in multiplayer modes of the upcoming shooter are more advanced, and a new Specialist system has been added. Treyarch did note, however, that since the game is not coming out until November, things are still subject to change, so this information may be altered before the game releases. What do you think of all the multiplayer changes?
