People have complained about Activision milking the Call of Duty cow dry what with its annual release schedule of the mega-shooter. While some people might not like the franchise, it’s undeniably still one of the most popular game franchises out there today — even old games in the series.
Case in point? During Activision’s earnings call, CEO Bobby Kotick revealed that there are still over 11 million gamers who play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 every month! Yes, the same Black Ops 2 that’s been out for over three years.
We have over 11 million monthly users playing Black Ops 2 which is unprecedented three years past the release date for one of our titles.
Will Black Ops 3 have the same staying power? We can’t say for sure, but fans will have a chance to try the game early when its beta starts this month on the PlayStation 4.
