First Screen Reportedly From Next Assassin’s Creed Appears Online, Hints at Egyptian Setting

While Ubisoft has made it clear that the next Assassin’s Creed game won’t be out until it’s ready, it doesn’t mean that work isn’t already underway on the title. If a screenshot leaked by industry insider Nibel (@Nibellion) is anything to go by, we might be looking at the Egyptian setting apparently codenamed Assassin’s Creed Empire.

In the screenshot above (click to enlarge), it’s the pyramid alongside previous unsettled rumors about Empire that’s leading people to believe it’ll be an Egyptian setting.

There’s no way to verify the authenticity of the image yet but GamesRadar did a little bit of research on Peter Tran, who appears as an admin in the image (at the top of the menu above Progression Log and on the right). A Google search does not say much but a profile or two belonging to someone based in Montreal, Canada, were found. And yes, Ubisoft Montreal is one of the studios behind the Assassin’s Creed series.

We’ll update our readers if/when Ubisoft confirms or denies the rumor.
