Treyarch Believes Black Ops is The Best COD Ever

Following weeks of negative press surrounding the franchise and publisher alike, Activision announced the next chapter in the highly-successful Call of Duty series, COD: Black Ops. After the Infinity Ward saga – which consequently saw heads of Infinity Ward Vince Zampella and Jason West leave and join Electronic Arts with Respawn Entertainment – Activision joined forces with COD: World at War developers Treyarch to take the development helm of Black Ops.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One and COD 3 developers, Treyarch, has stated their Black Ops project will be the best Call of Duty in the long-running franchise. Treyarch community manager Josh Olin expressed his thoughts on the shooter being one of the best games in the series by saying that separate teams are working on “the core pillars” of the shooter: multiplayer, co-op and single-player. “It’s kind of like three games being developed at once,” Olin said.

Olin also re-affirmed that even though the Infinity Ward situation with Activision is unfortunate, it’s not letting it distract the 11-million-units seller Call of Duty: World at War developers.

PSLS saw Black Ops behind closed doors during E3 and we were nothing short of impressed. However, whether Treyarch’s bold statement comes into fruition upon Black Ops November release is certainly a topic worth discussing.
