Officially Licensed Call of Duty Jeep Revealed

With any high-profile release, publishers provide a wide array of products as fan service for the consumers to purchase–thus increasing the publisher’s profits–in order to support their favorite title. Well, those that thought a specially licensed portable system or even a game console were strenuous on a gamer’s budget better stay in their seats when they catch a glimpse of what Activison has at the ready for battle-hardened Call of Duty players.

Officially announced by the Chrysler LLC, the parent company of the Jeep, the vehicle manufactures are set to produce a line of Call of Duty: Black Ops-themed 2011 Jeep Wranglers. Featuring 32-inch tires, Call of Duty graphical enhancements, and a variety of other exterior accessories, the Jeeps are designed to give drivers the same look and feel of the Jeeps present in the video game. In a statement by studio head of Treyarch, Mark Lamia:

“It was important for us to make sure that the Jeep partnership would be authentic and enhance the setting we immerse our fans in with Black Ops. Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own.”

For prospective Jeep buyers, the 2011 Jeep COD: Black Ops Edition Wrangler will retail in the US at $30,625 for the two-door and $33,500 for the four-door model. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a 2011 Jeep Rubicon as a pre-order incentive instead of a poster or some “exclusive” content? Anyone interested in purchasing a brand-new Jeep all of a sudden?
