Netflix isn’t satisfied with just delivering a disc-free experience to the PS3–they want to perfect it. Neil Hunt, Chief Product Officer for Netflix, sheds some light on the future of the user-interface, and why it changes from time to time upon login.
On Quora, Neil Hunt revealed that various versions of PS3 Watch Instantly interface is still being tested. Hunt had this to say:
The most visible test at present is between three different user-interfaces on the PS3 streaming application.
Given the drastic difference between the UIs–and the huge difference between what’s delivered on the Xbox 360–it’s reassuring to know that it’s still in a work in progress. Indirectly, Hunt encourages owners to provide feedback by saying:
The feedback from testing quickly sets us straight, and helps make sure that our efforts are really focused at optimizing the things that make a difference in the customer experience
