More Uncharted Comics and Adventure Novel Gunning For Store Shelves

If you’re a fan of Uncharted it’s likely not just for the excellent gameplay, but also the stellar storyline and characters accompanying the package – which is why you’ll want to check out these new stories about the indomitable Nathan Drake.

Back in 2009 we saw the release of the Eye of Indra motion comics on the PlayStation Network, which depicted one of Drake’s adventures which took place before the original game. Clearly Drake has had many more adventures than we’ve seen so far, and to expand on his fiction another comic series, this time in physical printed on paper form, and an adventure novel are planned to release near the time frame of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

The new adventure novel, entitled UNCHARTED: The Fourth Labyrinth is written by Christopher Golden and planned for release on October 4th, 2011. The novel sees Nate being called to New York City by the man who taught him all there is to know about the antiquities acquisition business. Victor Sullivan’s friend has been murdered, and now Sully, Drake, and the victim’s daughter Jada are on a race to find three ancient labyrinths to discover the secret that got Jada’s father killed. Of course, what lies within is enormous wealth, power, lost ancient warriors, and a mysterious monster, just to make things more interesting.

The new comic series is being published by DC Comics, written by Joshua Williams, penciled by Sergio Sandoval and covers by Tony Harris. The series will have Drake hunting for the legendary Amber Room hidden by explorer Sir Richard Byrd in the legendary city of Agartha. Agartha was long thought to reside in the Earth’s core, and the adventure will lead Drake to the center of the Earth. The comic series is set to release on November 30th, just a few weeks after Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, but takes place before both Uncharted 2 and 3.
