Netflix Coming to UK and Ireland Next Year

While gamers stateside have been able to enjoy streaming video content to their PlayStation 3 via Netflix for some time now, others all over the globe haven’t had access to such a luxury. Fortunately, that is about to change.

According to a statement from the company, they’re planning on expanding their service to Europe, starting with residents of the UK and Ireland early next year. As far has which devices subscribers will be able to stream content to, Netflix has yet to clarify.

However, they have said that it will be available “via a range of consumer electronics devices capable of streaming from Netflix, as well as on PCs, Macs and mobile tablets and phones.” Apparently, we can expect specific device confirmations “closer to launch.”

Considering the popularity of Sony’s console in Europe, it would be foolish for Netflix not to support the PS3, so at this point, I think it’s pretty fair to assume gamers in the UK and Ireland will have this service on the PlayStation 3 in the near future.
