UK Ratings Board BBFC Reveals Existence of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition?

Warner Bros. Interactive & NetherRealm Studios’ current blood-shedding installment of Mortal Kombat on current generation consoles may receive the equivalent of a Game Of The Year Edition, if a UK ratings board listing proves to be correct.

The British Board of Film Classification has listings for a game called Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition. The game was given an 18 rating and only the Xbox 360 version was mentioned. However, Eurogamer speculates that the “Komplete” implies that the game would arrive on both PS3 and Xbox 360, in addition to all of the DLC for the game being included on the disc. Such inclusions are usually standard in new “Game Of The Year” and other somewhat similarly named editions of games.

Mortal Kombat‘s DLC added a couple of fighters to the game: previous roster members Kenshi and Rain as well as a new fighter named Skarlet. However, the most notable addition by far was A Nightmare On Elm Street‘s iconic Freddy Krueger.

The BBFC’s listing dates Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition as releasing on February 17, 2012.
