Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes Announced

The LEGO version of The Dark Knight is going to be back in action again, as Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is in development at TT Games.

LEGO Batman 2 stars Batman & Robin, who are joined by Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern in an effort to save Gotham City from Lex Luthor and The Joker. The game includes new suits (such as Batman’s Power Suit), new gadgets (such as Robin’s Hazard Cannon), and new powers (such as flight, super-breath, and heat vision). Players also can explore new areas of Gotham via the Batmobile and the Batwing.

The game is a complement to the LEGO Super Heroes: DC Universe toy collection. The collection includes the Batcave, five construction sets, and three “buildable,” detailed action figures.

Tom Stone, Managing Director at TT Games, said:

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes builds upon the action and cooperative gameplay experience established in our best-selling LEGO video game to date, LEGO Batman: The Videogame. We’re offering fans a rich and expansive Gotham City environment filled with cool characters, great customization options and plenty of surprises that families, young gamers and DC Universe fans can enjoy together.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is in development for PS3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and PC. The game is currently scheduled for release in Summer 2012.
