Electronic Arts Opens New Studio Focused on Frostbite 2.0

Electronic Arts is opening up a brand-new studio in Gothenburg, Sweden and is currently looking for talented individuals to join the team. The primary focus of this new studio will be to create titles that make use of DICE’s Frostbite 2.0 technology.

Most of you are already well aware of EA’s prized engine and its ability to really set Battlefield 3 apart from the rest of the pack on a graphical level. The technology also allows for incredibly detailed environments and an unparalleled level of destruction. Additionally, the recently announced Medal of Honor: Warfighter has been confirmed to make use of Frostbite 2.0, as did Need for Speed: The Run and Command and Conquer: Generals 2.

It is clear that EA is very proud of its technology and plans to expand its game development effort by getting as much talent as possible on board. While it might be a little while before we actually see a game come out of the Gothenburg based studio, it’s exciting to see EA championing their powerful tech.
