Ubisoft has released a new video for Ghost Recon Future Soldier that shows how the Ghosts have an advantage on the battlefield, thanks to customizable weaponry and technology use.
The video is narrated once again by former Navy SEAL sniper/scout Richard “Mack” Machowicz, who talks about how a mission in GRFS is similar to that of the mission that led to the assassination of Osama bin Laden. Ghosts are tasked with infiltrating an enemy compound and need to customize their weaponry and use their gear to their ultimate advantage. Players will have classes of Ghost that can be edited, in addition to access to a new feature called “Gunsmith,” which allows them to customize their weapons extensively and offers over 20 million different weapon configurations. Several different parts of the weapon are customizable.
The player, in the compound scenario, has chosen a Thrown Sensor and a Thermal Camera as a part of his gear. Thermal cameras allow them to identify and eliminate guards patrolling around the outside of the compound. Once inside, the player uses an x-ray scope to see who’s on the other side of the wall. The Thrown Sensor can also be used to show players the number of enemies inside and their locations. The mission is a success and the operative inside who needs to be captured is captured alive. The mission saw no friendly casualties, either. The trailer closes with Machowicz saying that the next video will be about working as a team to get the drop on an enemy, followed by the GRFS logo, and the game’s box art and release date.
