Sony has released a new story trailer for Resistance: Burning Skies and some details about the new enemy and weapon that can be seen in the trailer as well.
On the PS Blog, SCEA Associate Product Marketing Manager Derek Osgood released the trailer, in addition to some story details. August 15, 1951 is the day that the Chimeran invasion begins in New York City and when fireman and protagonist Tom Riley finds himself caught in the conflict. Riley is determined to find his wife and daughter, Natalie and Rachel, and fight the Chimeran menace. His story runs parallel to Nathan Hale’s return from Europe in Resistance 2.
The trailer, which consists of both a comic book-style cutscene explaining some of the story and in-game footage, shows a new enemy and a new weapon during the in-game footage portion. The new enemy is the Executioner, a large Chimeran enemy with a cannon for an arm. The new weapon is the Hunter Rifle, the Chimeran burst-rifle carbine that is the predecessor to the Marksman in Resistance 3.
